our volunteers

The heartbeat of OzHarvest

Our impact in communities across Australia comes down to the amazing support of over 3,000 dedicated volunteers, who in the last year donated over 78,000 hours of their precious time. OzHarvest is powered by volunteers on so many levels – from helping in vans, packing hampers and cooked meals, assisting with education programs and serving people in need with a smile. For many people doing it tough, a conversation with an OzHarvest volunteer might be the only one they have that day.

Our food rescue impact in regional locations across the country relies entirely on volunteers and we are deeply thankful for their unwavering commitment to get good food to those who need it most.

Our hospitality heroes

Helping make the magic happen

We’re so lucky to receive unwavering support, kindness and community from Australia’s top chefs and restaurants – fondly known as our Hospitality Heroes!

Our wonderful chef friends, who after such a period of uncertainty, opened their kitchens and hearts to make the magic happen at our reimagined flagship fundraiser – Community CookOff – in May. 18 incredible restaurants in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne created 2,000 gourmet meals which were delivered directly to our charity network to feed those in need and helping to raise over $2.6 million!

A huge thank you to all our hospitality heroes for generously supporting our campaigns, programs, events, fundraisers, media opportunities … the list goes on!

BOOK OF THANKS

As these challenging times continue, OzHarvest is continually inspired by the unwavering response from the collective of organisations, individuals, food donors, volunteers and those who support us in-kind.  This year there are over 15,000 names in our Book of Thanks, who have all helped in some way to ‘Nourish our Country.’

Click on the map to see the community of supporters across the country.  Whilst we do our best to include everyone, if we’ve missed your name please email [email protected] with your details and we can add you to the Book of Thanks.
