Conversations of Care

In my 18 years of running OzHarvest, I’ve had many conversations with people who rush up to thank me. Whilst I never underestimate the value of the work we do and how it impacts our people, one conversation in particular brought home the importance of the difference we do make to those we serve. Carol from Coogee called ABC radio to share her story, bringing to life how our impact goes way beyond the meals we deliver.

As we emerged from post-pandemic lockdowns, it was beautiful to reconnect with our community as we embraced the ‘new normal’. We welcomed teams back to start Cooking for a Cause again, Nourish students joined us on-site, face to face NEST sessions resumed and FEAST was back in classrooms. Special moments for me included bringing back our reimagined flagship fundraiser ‘Community CookOff’, watching Nourish graduations and finally opening the doors to the much awaited Refettorio OzHarvest Sydney.

Everything we achieved in 2022 is only possible thanks to the ongoing passion, dedication and hardwork of the OzHarvest staff, volunteers, partners and supporters. I want to thank each and every person who believes in our cause. Whilst we are met with new challenges every year, I am constantly reminded of the power of our community, our ability to create change and the sheer number of people who help us ‘Nourish our Country.’

With my gratitude,

Ronni Kahn AO
